Skincare Made Simple: Home Remedies for Glowing Skin

Everybody deserves healthy glowing skin, regardless of their age, gender, or other factors. As you yearn for that healthy skin, it is very difficult to keep with the ten-step skincare routine that is a rage these days. With work-related stress, family, unhealthy eating habits, inadequate sleep, and pollution, the idea of glowing skin seems elusive.

While there are scores of skincare products available in the market,  there’s no denying that nothing compares to the goodness of natural products. So all it takes to achieve healthy glowing skin is a trip to your kitchen. Let us take you through some easy home remedies for anti-aging and glowing skin.

Turmeric

Replete with anti-bacterial properties, turmeric is a holy grail ingredient in the world of skincare. It is a powerful antioxidant that will help you achieve that natural glow. To help get rid of redness and puffiness, mix about half a teaspoon of turmeric powder with a cup of gram flour (chickpea flour). Add enough milk/water and mix well to form a smooth paste. Apply this paste to your neck and decolletage area and rinse it off with water after ten minutes.

Honey

Honey is known for its moisturization properties and its ability to keep the skin hydrated. You can use honey to ward off infections and also reduce blemishes and acne at home. A simple way to include honey in your skincare regime is to apply it directly to your clean and damp skin. To get the best out of this honey mask, massage it gently into your skin for a few minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water.

ChickPea Flour

Chickpea flour or gram flour is perhaps the most sought-after skincare ingredient for gentle exfoliation and removing dead skin cells. Incorporating it into your skincare routine by mixing it with water, milk, or any other ingredients can work wonders by bringing to the surface healthier and newer skin.

Cucumber

If you have dry, sensitive skin and you absolutely dread summer, cucumber is your best friend. Since cucumber has the same pH levels as your skin, it helps in replenishing the skin’s protective layer, keeps the skin hydrated, thus promoting glowing skin. It also works great from irritated skin. Simply grate the cucumber or extract its juice and apply it to your face and neck. You can also freeze the cucumber juice, mixed with aloe vera juice and rose water, into a small ice tray and store it for at least a couple of months.
